3 Hours for 3 Hours …

FYI!!

Many of you were in support of closing your programs for 3 hours in order to push back against the changes to the 3 hour rule that has rendered it useless.

However, many of you expressed concerns about the short notice. For this reason, we are not going to implement that this Friday, June 9, 2023.

We are sharing results of the survey with legislators and are sharing with them our desire to trade 3 hours for 3 hours in order to prove how valuable this rule is to us.

If no changes are made, we would like to implement a plan to make this happen; however, our hope is that this is not necessary.

To those who expressed concerns about the hardships this would be for your families, we completely understand! It is not our desire to make things hard for families; however, as more programs close classrooms and close their doors, families will be suffering more.

Remember “you are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.” Right now – the childcare industry is on fire, and we are doing our best to keep everyone warm, but if we are all burnt out, we will not be able to provide this service to our families long term.

Each program has to make the best decision for the families they serve, and we completely understand each person’s choice. We are thankful for the feedback to the surveys, and we are hopeful your responses will resonate with those who have the ability to change this.

Stay tuned for more updates!!
