We are happy to announce Dezaray Brookshire as our new ILDOCC Coordinator! She is hitting the ground running after spending the last 8 years as a Daycare Center Director in Springfield. She knows the ropes. She also knows who is strangling us with outdated regulations.
Anyway, Dezaray will be calling you to talk to you and your center. She will be the main point of contact for ILDOCC. (As always you can contact any ILDOCC board member in your area and encourage you to do so!) But Dezaray will ask for your ideas and feedback for ILDOCC to improve. She will be in meetings with legislators and our lobbyist at the Capitol. She will be an invaluable resource for putting changes YOU would like to make into policy-making efforts. In short, count on Dezaray to connect you with ILDOCC.
Of course, our Board of Directors continue to meet regularly. We are excited about this growth! This development is for you — the center Director or Owner and staff who are doing the day-to-day work with kids in the centers! Only if we work together and grow will we be able to be in control of our industry rather than at the hands of government bureaucrats. It’s an exciting time!
Dezaray lives in Elkhart, IL – just a short distance from Springfield. She has been a Childcare Center Director for 8 years at Gingerbread House in Springfield and has worked in the field of early childhood for over 12 years. She is married to Ryan and they have a 3 year old son. “This is about his future,” Dezaray says.
You can call Dezaray at 217-273-5345 or email her at ildoccstatecoordinator@
gmail.com. Either way, we are excited about growing our organization and our industry. We have needless obstacles standing in the way. Let’s roll!
