As we shared last Friday, DCFS has sent out notice to childcare providers with the emergency ruling that was filed of the 3-hour rule. This filing included a lot of additional restrictions in how the 3-hour rule can be utilized.

This can be viewed using the link below.

We have been working closely with our lobbying team and legislative champions (who fully agree that these changes were not agreed upon and that DCFS did not fulfill their commitment).

They have requested we conduct a survey and share results on the impact these changes will have on programs.

This information is very important!!

We need to hear the impact these restrictions to the 3-hour rule will have on your program. We are also looking to show a support of solidarity to law makers that we are not willing to just accept these changes without pushing back. In an effort to prove this, we are asking in the survey if you would be willing to close your programs for 3 hours on June 9, 2023 in order to make them understand how important this rule is to us. We hope that if enough programs would be willing to do this, DCFS might show more of an interest in changing back to the original langage of the 3-hour rule.

Please take the time to complete the survey below by Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Thank you!!
